Google Display Netowrk help

campaign is barely successful

I'm not entirely new to Google Adwords, but am to the Display Network.

I set up a campaign to target a single forum. Nothing else. The budget is set exceptionally high, to see if that helps.

Country & language are correct.
Networks: Display Network & Relevant pages only (ticked)
Devices: Computers
Bidding: Focus on impressions
Budget: Bt. 3000/day (way to much, I know)
Position preference: any position
Delivery method: evenly

20 keywords, all relevant to that forum. Some to my product. None is offensive of inappropriate.

I started this campaign on 10 Nov. - until now, 575 impressions. And -hurray!- yesterday: 1 click.

That's terrible performance. What am I doing wrong?

All your ads are approved?

Have you gone to the forum to see if you can see your ads running?

Are all your keywords in the same ad group? Are all of them relevant to every part of the forum? If not, consider breaking them down into smaller groups.

what's avg position?
maybe you are bidding too little CPC or CPM?
maybe the forum is not as good as you think?

I've been many times to the forum, and haven't seen anything as yet. (My ad, that is.) My F5 key is wearing thin now. ;-)

The forum isn't that big, but that is not the issue. My competitor is visible all day long. I am not. My boss is not happy about that. I've set the budget to $400, on everything. That is WAY too much, but I only do it to see if that boosts CPC/CPM.

The ad is approved. All the keywords are in the same group. Average position is 1.

Would it help if I run the same ad with different keywords in, say, 3 different campaigns? Each campaign focusing on a different topic, but all pointing to the same ad?
