AdWords phone support - What happened to it?

I manage a large number of AdWords accounts and I have always been able to phone Google AdWords support without a problem.

Lately, some client ids have been triggering an automated response saying that Google does not provide phone support to all AdWords accounts.

Yes, I know there is email support but what happened to phone support?

your post should actually read "AdWords support - What happened to it?" because it's nothing like it was over a year ago. i have dedicated account reps but at times they have taken up to 2 weeks just to reply to emails, and often times things just go unanswered or fall through the cracks. they've basically told me that they are there to offer as much "support" as they can bringing on new clients, rather than helping grow current ones.

so, adwords and analytics help sections and forums and become my friend :)

It's a hugely stupid move on Google's part, but there's nothing we can do about it.

(And yes, you can quote me on that, AWA)

If you have MCC - have you tried its client number and then you tell the other ID when you talk to the support?

And yes - very bad move.

I used to have two people to contact, plus one or two more for optimization that I (I must admit) never used after trying it one time (wasn't too bad, but it just went that way).

Then they told me that they figured phoning support 800 number would be the best option for me. That made me mad and disgruntled, I talked a lot, said bye, and hung up.
Later on I got contacted by Google offering 3 months support if I bring new clients.

Anyhow, all their moves just made me feel bad about how they don't respect my business enough.

I'm doing just fine without dedicated support, I appreciate being able to call these days, and I feel bad about girls I hung up on.
On the other side I wish they just told me that they did not want to give support to affiliates anymore...
