Hi,

I've been an affiliate for almost 5 years now...started at the gaming industry and moved on. What I missed all these years is a good, reliable software that allows me to automate my work.

I mean, there's no reason for me to manually exclude sites with +5k impressions and no clicks, right? There should be an easy way to write certain "if/then" rules.

Also, there were times I wish I could save "changes" and undo them, on a massive scale.

Another tool I'd like is a "tag" that can statistically tell me if the changes I've made were good or bad for my campaign/adgroup/ad etc... but what is good or bad? I'd like to be able to set that as well.

I'm gathering ideas as I want to write this software. Perhaps it's just me that thinks that there's room for such a software (or maybe, an onlien application?).

I'd be very happy to hear anyone's insights about it. If there's something out in the market and you can point me to it, that would also be valuable. Thanks!

How about a flag telling people that their ad is OK with no risk of getting banned.

I think there is definitely room in the market for such an application. There are tools that we have built in house that

1) use the API to pause campaigns when there are 3 consecutive 404s returned in 5 mins.

2) Check periodically if a negative is preventing an ad from showing and WHICH NEGATIVE that is.

3) Automatically runs a placement performance report and excludes sites at an adgroup level based on metrics like you mentioned.

These are features that SHOULD be included by default.

If you're going to run with such a product, it might be worth noting that VERY few advertisers will want a web based application as sharing data is not price they will be willing to pay.

ppc_newbie - good one, perhaps checking the URL destination to see that it works. also, perhaps it would run the same check that google does - regarding the display URL - why upload an ad that would be disapproved for a silly reason such as pasting the wrong display URL (happened to me many times over the years).

Dave_Davis - number 2 is good, would require a sophisticated algo to remove/add them to test. Also, I was thinking about a tool that automatically adds negatives to groups according to low CTR - it see if ABC usually takes down the CTR/conv rate and adds it as a negative.

I was more thinking of it to be an open source project, but right now i can't find many programmers like me that feels the same, know the area and have the time.

The problem with a machine-based application is that needs many QA, but I was also thinking in that direction. We're all paranoid (=
