Yesterday when using the Ad Preview Tool while I was logged-in, I saw for the first time (maybe I was not careful) the link on the top right side of my search result 'View customizations'. Once I clicked on it I saw the following information:
'When possible, Google will customize your search results based on location and/or recent search activity. Additionally, when you're signed in to your Google Account, you may see even more relevant, useful results based on your web history.
The following information was used to improve your search results for XYZ.
(...)
If you're curious, you can see what a search for XYZ looks like without these improvements.'
I know that Google is taking into account search history but I thought that it was not the case for the ad preview tool since this is supposed to help advertiser to see how their ads are displayed.
Did I misunderstand something?
