Google gets this a lot...you'll likely need different everything. That still might not even be enough.
That's not a legacy that a loving parent would want to bestow...
It would be better to set up an incorporated company if you want to try for a fresh start for your own endeavours. Don't run the risk of handicapping your son's business future.

If your son does set up an account, I'd assume that Google knows about the relationship. I'd caution him against having any similarities to your banned account. Don't promote the same products, services, website, don't even target the same keywords. If they are clearly separate, and not just a workaround to get you back in the game, I think Google will know that.
Another thought...a lifetime is a long time, especially in the online world. I wouldn't be surprised if Google looks to reinstate some of these accounts at some point down the road. I'd certainly not give Google any more reason to keep me out, months or even years down the road.
Even if he's in an entirely different niche, I wouldn't use the same credit card, and I'd probably try to avoid using the same IP number if possible.

In case you have not heard, Google is in talks to purchase America. So be careful what you do and what you say, as Google might not only ban you from AdWords, they next might ask you to leave the country... :)

Google may have (may have, bc I don't know all the details) penalized you unfairly but you don't have a constitutional right to be a Google advertiser. In fact, since your brought America in, Google has and should have the right not to accept your money or do business with you, based on freedom of association alone.
The fact they control over 70% of the search market, effectively a monopoly, Google should be required to deal with all advertisers in a fair and equitable way.
Buy ads on NBC, Bing, Comcast, small site USA and contact USDOJ to complain about the monopoly.

My guess is that Google is less than thrilled with "Get a mortgage with 1.08% a year. Free Money from Obama" ads.
Do you have a laptop? Goto the coffeeshop and sign up on wifi. Use a different credit card number. Not rocket science.

If you read this carefully, you would figure that the question was totally right - about family member running own stuff - whatever that is.
Being hyper through various threads without making any contribution is really against any forum and therefore such folks are mostly not welcome.

There is a problem with this based on the history that individuals made - and that is the fact that AdWords have already been abused by using family members to repeat offending that has been performed by the original advertiser. This obviously is the case for organizations too - where person #1 gets banned but person #2 takes it from there.
I would think that as long as the stuff that "a son" is running is different from what dad got banned about - that should make it run.
Certainly, there is no guarantee that son's site will be any more welcomed by AdWords', simply because new sites are really having hard time with Google, when compared to those with the history (even outside PPC, just overall online history).
