Click Fraud

I am new to adwords and want to minimize competitor click fraud. I thought that in my destination urls I could add a small variable such as ?aw=y (adwords = yes), then on my website if that variable is present call a function that would record the ip address into a database. This way I could monitor my ip addresses and see if I am getting clicks from the same ip address and add it to a filter. Thanks. Tom

[adwords.google.com...]

Watch:

- Up to 20 per campaign
- Proxy or shared address(es)

If you really want to be precise, and you have enough time to deal with all this, you may want to track IPs on a conversion side.
This way, while you're seeing many clicks from same IP, you can check if any conversion has happened. If it did, you let it go and watch. If it did not, you exclude it.
