Decline in advertisers?

Is this an opportunity to get into adwords?

I was doing a search a regional niche search in my niche yesterday and checking out the adwords ads - I like to check it every month or two just to see who's doing what.

Normally I get 3-4 pages of ads, and the first two are 'real advertisers' (the next two pages would be the affiliate/arbitrage stuff). But yesterday I get only 1 page of ads - a whole page + of 'real' advertisers just aren't advertising anymore.

Is anyone else seeing such a dramatic decline in ppc advertisers in their niche?

And more importantly, I wonder if this isn't an opportunity for me to get back in the PPC game, get my CTR nice and high while there's little competition. thoughts?

Apparently Google fooled more than just me. They’re plenty of ads but Google is limiting the visibility in many areas of their search engine to drive up prices. Just check the third party partners such as AOL, Ask, Netscape, etc. and you’ll see quite a few of what Google is refusing to show on its own engine. There so many junk ads on these partner sites it truly makes you wonder why Google engaged in so many account closures.

IMHO there is no set "goot time to get in" when it comes to Google Adwords. Any time is good if you know what you're doing and can walk away with a really decent return for your efforts :)

If your competition is cutting back, it would be a great time. We have seen a decline due to businesses cutting back.
