Hi,

Adwords noob here. Running the same date range, the same adgroup I get wildly different impression numbers.

Search Query Report
Impressions: 51
Clicks: 21

Geographic Report
Impressions: 3,093
Clicks: 21

Can someone please explain how this has come about? Which is the 'true' picture

Thanks

And just now looked at the campaign management page and I have

Impressions: 6,859
Clicks: 30

Now I am really confused.

Are the reports out of sync with each other?

Hi pavlovapete,

The SQ report only gives you the search queries that resulted in a click.

There were a lot of alternative searches done with impressions but no clicks.

Hi briggidere,

The SQ report only gives you the search queries that resulted in a click.

Please pardon my rudeness but if that was the case then impressions would always equal clicks in the SQ report.

Maybe I have misunderstood you?

Thanks for your reply though.

Ooops - I think I understand you.

Something doesn't add up though - does the impression count mean that that particular search phrase was used multiple times? I've got some 5+ word phrases in there - I find it hard to believe 8 different people have used a 5 word phrase on the same day.

OK so I think I understand the SQ report better - thanks.

Any idea why the impression count is so different in the Geo report and the Campaign Mangement tab?

Cheers
