I changed some ads and created some new ones about 5-6 hours ago now (I'm in the UK) in three different ad groups and they are still 'under review'? How long should this take?

My best guess is today was a national holiday in the U.S..... most companies had the day off here so that may be the issue if it requires a manual approval. Everyone should be back to work Tuesday morning.
