How many rules does an ad like that violate?

...I'm talking about the G's own rules for ads

<Paraphrase>
Google ad for AdSense with the words:
"Easiest" in the title.
Please don't copy other publishers Ads.
</Paraphrase>

That's funny :)

Was it a Google ad or someone mimicking one?

<added>
I found it and it landed on
services.google.com/marketing/links/US-HA-ASHP-QT1

Of course it's google.
I was just pointing out how hypocritical it is of them.
I see at least two of their own rules broken.

Wow, the word hypocritical stings a bit!

Bcc1234, I'm not sure what two broken rules you're referring to. Please let me know, and I'll pass your comments on to the right folks if we are 'outside of policy'. ;)

If I had to guess, it would be:

* The use of the word "easiest". If so, you'll find that we haven't disapproved use of that word as a superlative for quite some time - almost exactly a year in fact.

* The use of the word "Google" in the ad text. I guess we figured that'd be OK, since this is a 'house' ad, and, well, that is the name of our company.

Anyway, let me know what was bugging you. I'll pass it on, and ask for a manager's review. ;)

Hehe, AWA, it doesn't bother me.

But I think the second rule is the excess capitalization in the description.

Considering that the idea of imposing those rules should benefit your users (the searchers) -- at least I think that's the official explanation -- Google doing it themselves does seems hypocritical.

The use of the word "easiest".

Is it possible to get a list of all keywords that are now approved?

I see your ads with:
Best Way To Make Money
and
Fastest Way To Make Money

It would be nice to have a list of words we could use.

Thanks for the reply, bcc1234. Was just trolling for last minute feedback for the Advertiser Feedback report when I saw it.

Glad to be able to clarify this one. The caps on the first letter of each word are just fine - always have been actually. It's words in ALL CAPS THAT ARE THE PROBLEM. ;)

Are you sure about that?
I'm not talking about the title, but description.

I'm not talking about the title, but description.

I am hovering around 99.5% certain, but I'll confirm with an Editorial manager type tomorrow, for that last .5% of certainty.

BTW, just so you know - I'm signing off now. Gotta polish the Feedback report, and send it!

Best Way To Make Money

"Best" is definitely a superlative that gets disapproved.

Ahh. Missed seeing that before. You're quite correct that 'Best' is not OK.

I can't find it in an ad myself, but if it is there, then yes, we are wrong. And thanks for pointing it out.

I'll track down the right folks and make sure that it goes away. ;)

BTW, I'm now up to 100% certainty on the question of if it's OK to capitalize the first letter of every word in both title and description - and the answer is 'Yes'.
