Ha! Some people at AdWords support are really funny. Here is why:

I work as an affiliate for a company that has changed URL at some point. Ads featuring old URL stayed ON, did not get disapproved, and started being a problem when they get mixed with the ads created by people that switched URL to the right one.

I send one example to AdWords support in order to get the ad disapproved, and I also give them a short description of the case, noting that as soon as they disapprove one, there will be another one starting showing, and so on.

They reply back with big THANKS, and about the time when that email was sent, I see that the ad in question was gone, and that the other one started showing up.

So, I reply back and I state what I already stated about new ads showing up, and I send the new example.

The reply from same AdWords individual was about how AdWords "value the quality of our program highly", and then this:

In order to create an environment where advertisers can trust one another and our users continue to receive quality advertising, we ask that you contact this advertiser directly and resolve this complaint in a timely manner.

Ha, ha, ha, ha!

Are you really serious and you want me to contact another advertiser directly (who is BTW an affiliate) and tell him how his ad is in violation of YOUR policy?!

What the heck is wrong with you guys?

Who is the advertiser?
What trust are you referring to?
Which complaint are you referring to? It's URL1 that takes people to URL2.

Urghaaaahhh...

The disapproval of ads with misleading urls happens automatically. It doesn't happen instantly, and requesting for someone at Google to manually disapprove the ads won't cause it to happen any quicker.

Acrill: Bingo, here's the problem.

So as the case has not been resolved, I sent an email yesterday (again) where I said about ad with invalid display URL, and gave the domain and keyword, gave my client center account number which was i.e. yyy-yyy, and got the response in the manner:

Thank you very much...
I see you're concerned about ads in your client account '#*$!-#*$!'. Upon reviewing this account I was not able to come across any ad with the URL 'www.example.com'.

Wait a minute! Hello! Wake up! Sure you could not find it in my account!

Why under the sky I would ever email Google support to tell them how I (or my client) have ads with invalid display URL.

Plus, where did you find that dam... account number if I have not referred to it at all?!

I don't know but my late experience is a misery. Some basic and simple stuff is not getting turned around but totally misunderstood.

Monty Python - please come and save us.

Have you tried a live chat during US business hours? It might increase your chance of reaching someone with a clue.

Not all of us still have a live chat link in our accounts, Rehan. I certainly don't anymore.

I know, that option is often not there for me either. But it's worth checking [adwords.google.com...] to see if it appears at the bottom. (Right now, it does show me the live chat link.)

live chat

Don't have it for most of the time. It may be it appears/disappears based on their availability and however Google determines advertiser's eligibility at the moment. This is my guess only.

And right now, it is there when I checked Rehan's link. Thanks!

Anyhow, I did call them and got a U.S. based person so it did go through - I'm yet to see the result.

Still I wanted to reiterate through this forum, how we suffer the red tape and incompetence of Google's employees.

Things like display URL and counterfeit stuff promotion should not take long time to get to so untouchable policy team. This should be within 24/48/72 hours frame, and I believe Google had those timings in place for long time. It is just that they don't announce that publicly much so people don't keep them liable.

So I got the reply via email from the person that I've got into contact with in the first place.

1. She was not able to locate an ad although I already provided her with all the settings in AdWords Preview Tool and I see ad 24h/day, no geo-targeting.
2. She asked me to provide the specific link from an ad.

The second item has brought up a long time issue that people outside of U.S. have:

We cannot see ads in the states as our "Google" redirects to our local Google domain!

If we use Google AdWords Preview Tool, as everybody knows by now, links are not available there. You can only see the results, but you cannot click onto ads and go further.

Buahhhaaaaa ! Cry baby cry - and die. Man, like I have nothing else to do... Do your job!

You can. Just get the URL of the lower frame (search page) of the Ad Preview Tool, and then load it again after removing &adtest=on from the URL.

For example...
Preview version: hxxp://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&host=google.com&q=adwords&adtest=on&gl=US&gr=US-CA&gcs=
Live version: hxxp://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&host=google.com&q=adwords&gl=US&gr=US-CA&gcs=

You can.

Say the amount I should write onto a check, buddy... or give me your PayPal address...
