Google Easy, a scam?

Hi, just had a phone call from somebody saying they are from Google trying to sell me adwords under the name of Google Easy, has anybody heard of this? Was it really a Google rep? I have told him to email me the details, as yet they have not arrived.

The basic idea was, 5 key phrases for £89 on first page in the Sponsored Links.

Of course it isn't Google! You don't get a rep call you if your are spending thousands a month - let alone a few quid!

Yes, i've had calls very similar to that. When challeneged, they deny ever saying they were Google.

I'm sure that Google would be very interested to get to the bottom of this and to stop scammy businesses passing themselves off as Google.

If I had the time, i'd follow it up. In fact, I might do it next time round.

I got a similar call from a company called Search Engine Easy offering the same deal. They gave me their website. When I looked at it, the company running it is called S.E. Easy Ltd which is registered in Dublin.

From carrying out a bit of research, its a newly formed company as it was started on 16 July 2009

Often a quick Google search for the company/product name with the term 'scam' appended will provide a quick answer to your question.
