We created a new account which was taking FOREVER to get reviewed and go live. As we were running short of time (the campaign duration not too long), we desperately wanted our ads to appear. So, we paused most campaigns (ones with primary keywords which were expected to bring in max conversions) in this account and replicated the same in another existing account (I'll refer to it as old account here on) which was used to target a similar product some time back (all other campaigns in this account had been paused for a while). We left a couple of campaigns in the new account active so that we would know when the account is reviewed and we could then have all our campaigns running from this account as planned earlier. No two similar keywords were active in both accounts at the same time - so we WEREN'T DOUBLE SERVING!
Also, we created a new page (/xyz) on the landing page for the old account (www.abc.com) where the ads from the old account were directed.
So, till now we have - Old account - with campaigns (high performing ones) directing to a new page like (www.abc.com/xyz) and a new account (which also went live) with different not so high performing keywords, directing to a page www.xyz.com
Now, the keywords in this old account acquired 'Great' quality scores with campaign going smoothly, conversions coming in, etc. So we didn't want to take any chances by pausing this (since they contributed to 95% of conversions) and switching to the new account. So, instead we moved the campaigns from the new account to the old one (these campaigns still directing to the page www.xyz.com)
All went fine till our ads stopped showing altogether. The reason Google gave when hovering over the keyword was even more strange - For some of the best performing keywords, the message read that 'you might have just added the keywords....our system is experiencing a delay, etc', the kind of thing you see when you just create a new account.
I've put in so much details here(which might sound a little confusing :P )just to make sure that my point - 'We aren't double serving' is very clear. So why does Google not get it?
What could have happened here and what is the best solution for this? I know things are a bit messy but we were really running short on time and couldn't afford to wait for Google's reply on why the account took so long to get live.
So now, should we switch everything to the new account with the domain www.xyz.com? Or just wait for Google to fix things on its own? What is it that we did wrong..we did abide by all Google policies, I believe.
Any suggestions?
