Hi Guys,

I have launched campaigns for my keywords. My bid is sufficient enough to come in first page. I am getting impressions but few clicks. Ads are coming up but very slowly, for e.g: from 8.7 to 8.6.....I want to understand how can I achieve the following things and maintain it:
1) How can I get in top 3 positions and remains there.
2) Should I try to change the ad copy or wait more till ads comes up in top 3-5 positions.

Please let me know you opinion.

Thanks,
Nirav.

Bidding more will get you higher position. Quality score plays a big role as well. What is your average quality score? Have you optimized your ad groups? Your ad text should match the keywords in that ad group. The biggest mistake that most people make when they first start out is to put too many keywords in ad groups. Quality score is based mostly on CTR. Make sure each ad reflects all the keywords in that ad group. Make sure you landing pages reflect your keywords as well.

I am constantly increasing my bids with cents.....
I have kept all the relevant keywords in my adgroups.
My ad text has minimum of 2-3 words from key phrases list.
I have a combination of keywords in my page and ad text. For e.g if i have following key phrase
word1 word2 word3. then my ad is having atleast word1 & word2... so any of the 2 words from keyphrase. hope its fine. I have arnd 5-7 keyphrases in adgroup. those keyphrases are almost similar.... with a difference of in, the and arrangement of words like
word1 word2 word3
word2 word3 word1.....
Let me know if i have missed out anything.

ashish21cool just because your bid is high enough to be in the top 3 doesn't mean your targeted key words will be there.

netmeg has indicated 2 times to you on quality score of the ad. I have found it in most cases it takes about a week for the landing pages to be spidered and ranked or given "quality score".

Your bid amount is just one factor in what position your ads will show.

Quality score is 7/10 for all keywords.

You can improve things a little with better QS's but it looks like your just going to have to bid more. Pennies is not going to do it. Your going to have to raise bids a lot more to get near the top.

Today again the g system says First page bid $. So again i had to increase my bid again.
What do you think is happening?

You really can't do bid jamming any more. It is possible to pay less than the person below you in Google. It is all about Quality. Try to get your QS over 7. Having all 7/10 means there is a lot of room for improvement. It is not hard to get 20% of your terms with a 8-10/10. Some people have a way higher percentage than that.
