I'm not sure how many people on this forum are using Google AdWords.

And of those who are, I have no idea how many might be using AdWords Editor?

Our company makes extensive use of this tool, yet Im starting to think that the life of AdWords Editor may soon be over.

Please tell me I'm wrong!

This is the AdWords forum so most people are probably using it. Concerning your prediction about the future of AE, care to elaborate on why you think this?

I can't imagine Google has ANY plans to stop supporting and developing Adwords Editor. It's an absolute necessity for large advertisers.

Nor can I, at least based on anything of which I am aware. ;)

He is probably thinking that since the online version has added many of the features that were exclusive to adwords they might be. I think I would just have to quit doing ppc if they got rid of AW editor.

There is no way I could possibly manage all my ads using the online version.

That editor is one of the best things to come out the plex.

I love AdWords Editor and frequently have multiple screens of a browser and the Editor open at the same time as some tasks are easier and faster to do online and some faster to do in the Editor and then upload.

I see that AWA is watching this thread, so just wanted to say that I consider it a terrific app for professional account manager allowing a manager to work on many things at the same time.

Kudos to Google for creating it.

hard to believe that someone who makes "extensive use of the tool" is thinking that it will no longer exist anymore...doesn't make any sense, pretty sure it will be around for the long haul

Many thanks, Nancy99, for taking the time to post and say that!

I'll make sure that the right folks receive your kudos. :)

Yikes!

I now see that thanks for the kind words are also due to avalon37, ogletree and arizonadude as well.

Thanks to you all - and I am now passing along the entire throed to the AE team. :)

Update on my previous post:

I just got a very short thank you email from a colleague on the AdWords Editor team, for having passed along your feedback.

(I think you made their day.)

And, by way of setting minds further at ease, in that email my colleague also said this:

The demise of Editor would be news to us too. :)

So, there you have it.

Version 7.5.1 has just been released; new features are listed at [google.com...]

I guess that puts a formal end to the retirement theory. :-)
