5 days, $300 payment accepted, no impressions

first campaign - does it always take this long?

So I set up our first Adwords campaign 5 days ago and pre-paid $300 to get the ball rolling. I only want to spend $10 per day until I am certain I at least know how to get a basic campaign working properly.

However we've had 0 impressions on our ads. When I check with the preview tool I see nothing. Only using Google Search.

"You have no active ads" - this is showing in all my Adgroups - but all Ads, Adgroups and Campaign are active.

From their help "Your ads will being serving almost immediately after you make a prepayment."
[adwords.google.com...]

I'd really appreciate any advice on things to check - I have a feeling I've missed something quite basic.

I've just checked my server logs and am seeing Server error 500 on the 25/03 when it appears number of landing pages were visited by Google IP addresses.

I've posted at the Adwords help forum - is there anything else I can do?

Have the server errors sunk my first campaign before it has started?

Try making a small change to the ads or create a new ad to enable/force the bot to visit again.

I shall do as you suggest.

First I need to get to the bottom of the server error - investigating further it appears my server errored at the exact time the bot visited and worked fine for everyone else.
