I'm really confused / frustrated because I changed ALL my creative ads to go to my new Destination URL that I spent weeks perfecting.

However, several weeks later, I did a test search on google, and the ads are still going to the OLD Destination URL!

After doing some investigating, I realize that despite the fact that I changed the Creatives (Ads) in AdEditor, all of the KEYWORDS destination URLs still have the old one.

DOes the keyword destination URL override the Creative Ads URL? That's what seems to be happening, i'm just not sure if that is the "rule" on destination URLs...

Thanks for the help, as always,
Hubie

Yes, that's the rule. Keyword destination always overrules creative url. That mistake gets made a lot.

Hmm, too bad the AdWords Editor can't put up one of those little warning thingies if you change the destination url on a creative "Warning - did you know you also have keyword destination urls in this ad group?" just to remind you. Will try to remember to post that in the AdWords Stuff I'd Like To See item tomorrow.

and if there is NO keyword destination URL (left blank) then it will default to the Ads destination URL?

A very good point. I've just added it to the report ;)

Many thanks,

Don't beat yourself up too much.

Done the same thing myself... more than once.
