Ok, I hope this question is not too stupid, and I hope I am not waisting anybodies time.

I just started with adwords, but google seems to disable my campaign because I do not get an high enough CTR.
So, to be honest, looks like I am clueless.

Should I use as many keywords as possible?
Do the bad keywords bring the overall percentage down?

Could you guys please point me to some GOOD beginners information about the subject?

Any info is really appreciated.

Steve

I'm guessing that the reason that no one has responded yet, is that answer to your question regarding how to be successful with AdWords could fill a medium length book. The seeming simple question really covers a lot of ground.

As a first step, though, I'd suggest reading as much about AdWords as I could on the AdWords site itself. Below are a few links to point you in the right direction:

Program Details and FAQ
[adwords.google.com...]

AdWords Demos and Guides
[adwords.google.com...]

Optimization Tips
[adwords.google.com...]

If I had to give a very few tips for success, they would be:

* Start small, and spend some time daily monitoring and adjusting. Then, grow the account once you understand what works and what doesn't.

* Absolutely do not use as many keywords as possible. Instead create a list of keywords based on quality, not quantity. IMO, ideal keywords should be very specific and particular to your actual product or service. 10 great keywords are more valuable than 10,000 poor keywords.

* Avoid very general keywords, and most single-word keywords, at least at first.

* Understand and use negative keywords to your advantage.

* Create targeted Ad Groups in which the ad is about a particular thing, and the words in the keyword list are all about that exact same thing.

* Create as many targeted Ad Groups as you need to cover all the different products or services that you want to advertise. But starting small, learning, then growing is probably the ticket here - rather than trying to do it all at once.

* Hang aroung this Forum for awhile, reading and asking questions.

I wish you the best of success, stfarm!

Thank you very much AWA, I guess it too early for any books on the subject yet?

Thank again for your time,
