Say you are a leading retailer and household name and are bidding on your company name in Adwords. What do you think a good conversion rate is for that? I have helped a company go from 7% to around 12% in the last year. Now most people would say that's incredible 12%, but keep in mind, these people are typing your company name, not your products...your conversion should be high. So yes average price of your products is an important factor; if you're average item is $50 versus $250 you will have a higher conversion the lower your average sale price is.

Was curious if anyone managed a retail campaign and what your company name conversion was.

this can vary all over the place depending on the nature of what is being sold, how closely the compnay name and product are tied, whether your affiliates are screwing you and grabbing some of this traffic, whether you are effectively using negative keywords and exact and phrase and so on.

i ran one for a client that converted at more than 30%.

i've run others that were below your 7% low end.

like the question "what is a good ctr", this question can't be pinned down hard.

ps - put a coupon in that name ad and conversion will often go up even further.

pss - more importantly, since your name ppc and name seo will both be very HIGH click through links (because of the nature of the search), it's a good idea to run some testing to see what the net financial effect of ppc'ing your own name is... and again, it depends on too many factors to know without doing some testing.
