Here's a suggestion to G. Why not make an editor that mimics, looks and feels like the Campaign management interface? This would encourage the resistors to it to feel comfortable and confident in using it. I have tried using the editor on several occasions and always felt that it required an investment in time to learn how to use it properly. When I finally tried uploading my edits, I was never confident that I had made only and all the changes I wanted. With account histories, quality scores ... etc., you really don't want to take a chance and screw up anything.

I've just copy/pasted your feedback, verbatim, into this week's Advertiser Feedback Report, vanderbolt. So, it'll ge heard by the right folks.

I'd be interested, though, to hear whether or not others agree. Anyone?

I quite like the editor the way it is, I think moving it closer to the campaign interface in appearance may make people more comfortable, but the overall functionality is exactly what I tend to need when I'm making large updates.

I use the campaign interface and editor for very different things and certainly wouldn't want either to become some sort of middle ground and lose functionality.

I would also be worried that moving closer to the campaign interface would slow it down, as the volume of information required may increase, creating something a lot more clunky.

Of course if it was a purely cosmetic change none of that would matter :)

I prefer it the way it is too. I actually try to stay out of the console if I can help it, although, of course, some things can only be done there.

I think Adwords Editor should be better and is horribly beta tested when new versions are released. For that reason, I usually use at least 1 version behind the latest available. That being said, the only thing I use the tradional web-interface for is running reports and looking at intraday reporting. Editor not having a column telling you that your max bid is below page1 is annoying, but does not pertain to me 99% of the time.

I've been using Editor for several years. It did take some getting used to in the beginning, as it is a different format than online. However, once you get the hang of it it's a real time saver.

I think a quality score column would be great though.

I've been using editor since it first became available. I love it the way it is as far as functionality, but proably not the prettiest thing to look at. I use it for everything other than pulling some detailed reports.

Maybe G should just offer a webinar once a month or so that covers the basics of using the tool?

Once you learn the tool, it is very simple to use.

It appears that everyone that is responding to this message has learned to use and has been using the editor for a time now. What about people who are just starting to use it. How many of you have tried it and given up, don't like it or just don't have the confidence in using it. This thread is really for us new users who are resisting the changeover because the editor does not appear user friendly.
