Hi all,

Saw someone on here mention variable titles, but i cant remember who, what, why, where, when etc etc...

Is it possible so that the ad contains in the title, the keyword or key phrase that a user searches for?

Best explained by example (probably)...

User searches for keyword1, therefore ad appears as follows

keyword1 blah blah
description
etc etc
www.example.com

But, that same ad, if another user searches for keyword2, then it appears as

keyword2 blah blah
description
etc etc
www.example.com

Can that be done? Or is there a really long way of doing it with setting up a different ad for each keyword?

Yes it is possible. The method is know as DKI (Dynamic Keyword Insertion). All you have to do is insert {keyword} where you want to insert the keywords. However, be aware of a few limitations. Like the fact that Google allows only 25 characters in the title. Suppose you enter {keyword} in the title and the searched keyphrase has more than 25 characters then your ads wont show up. So put {keyword:default text} instead. The "default text" is another alternative text which is within 25 characters that would show up in case the keyphrase exceeds 25 characters and your DKI cannot work.

You can format the insertions, use them in the title, body or even the display url. When used properly, it's a great tweak that can help the campaigns.

You can learn all about it from the horse's mouth at [adwords.google.com...]

Hope that helps.
