Does anyone here have tested using the phrase match method using quotes (ex:"kws") or the exact match method using brackets (ex:[kws]) for their Adwords campaigns to see if they would be worth it?
For example the brackets may give me a higher CTR since people would need to search using the exact phrase in order to see my ad but will that bring me a ton of clicks less making it not worth it in the end?
Which method would you advise me to start with?
A- Start with brackets to have a higher CTR and move on to quotes if there is not a lot of clicks or
B- Begin with quotes since they would be between the brackets and the broad match and then watch the logs for other words they would use to find me?
Thanks

Btw, when you use the brackets, do you boost your CPC to 25 cents or more just right there or what?
Cabman, ever tried creating 2 different pages one for the free Google serps (ex: pageA.htm) and a similar page for Adwords (ex: pageB.htm)?
My logs are telling me that they come from Google but at least it tells me also which page was called so i know which Google program sent me that person.
Just my 2 cents

Would the special adwords page need to be excluded from the Googlebot crawl or wouldn't that page find it's way into the free Google serps from the other page links?
I'm struggling to get my head around this, maybe there's another way.

If the Adwords page find it's way into the free Google serps, it will hurt the listing of your other free listed pages since Googlebot will find duplicate (and SEs don't like duplicate pages) so you might want to either create a copy of your first site and use it on another domain that will NOT be visited by spiders but only submitted to Adwords (that's what i do btw).
Unless of course you use some other tracking tool but here's my opinion on that.
The main challenge of SEOs has been from choosing between a highly optimized page made for SEs and a page that people will like, designed mostly for marketing purposes with nice graphics and info pushing the client to buy.
By using 2 different sites you can highly optimise the 1st one for Googlebot and other SE Spiders and use the 2nd for Adwords where the focus would be more on selling your stuff.

What conversion rate tracking tool do you suggest?

Just read comments on a few SEO boards and you'll see many angry SEOs fuming about the fact that spiders indexed pages that were not supposed to be in the Serps.
After all, domain and hosting cost almost nothing these days so why take the chance.
