Reverting back to an Old campign

Just a quick background. I started with a company selling "widgets" about 6 months ago. They had a very successful Adwords campaign running, but then opted to outsource it to a company based in India. Since that point in time, the campaign has totally tanked with all of the "improvements" they have made. I am wondering if there is a way to revert back to the old setting, keywords, ads, and costs from before they took over the campaign. Is this doable in any way? Could Google help with something like this? Where do you think the best place is to start? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Gosh, I assume you didn't have an Excel export of the campaigns, ad groups, and keywords - did you? Without this data... and unless they deleted the campaigns as-is and created new ones, where you could simply "undelete" the old ones... I think you may be, unfortunately, out of luck.

That was my thought as well. Unfortunately they outsourced the campaign right as I started and did not have any spreadsheets of the original campaigns. They just modified existing campaigns and added a few new of their own. Well, it looks like I will be having a lot of fun in the upcoming weeks.

Well, if they changed the ads, go into Adwords Editor and you can undelete any old ad. Even if an ad has been edited to only change a character somewhere google creates a new one and the old version is saved as deleted. Just make sure you set show deleted ads in the editor preferences.

As far as keywords/adgroup data goes... Google keeps an extensive change history. Not sure exactly how far it goes back but I believe it's at least a year. You can go through that and see exactly what was changed from the time you let go of the campaign. You may not be able to retrieve every piece of info but you should be able to get most of it. I believe it's under tools, My Change History in the adwords interface.

From Google's UI: "Browse changes you've made to your account since January 1, 2006." The format of how these changes are logged may be a challenge, but that should be a start!
