I've used Adsense for some time but I'm new with using Adwords.

Any basic tips/information that I should know? For example, I have many impressions, but no clicks so far today.
Do I need to be paying more?

If you're getting impressions but no clicks, then maybe you need to work on your ad text?

Its also a very small niche, so there actually aren't many impressions either...

so stop using broad match (or even worse expanded broad match).

sometimes for small niches only phrase or exact match will do.

your daily impressions showed go way down if you do these things.
it will make the impressions more relevant.

I'm with netmeg on this one.

Please forgive me as I re-use a response I wrote on another forum on which I post below. I have always tried not to do this sort of thing, but as I run out of time these days I have resorted to such desperate measures - in an effort to be helpful in a reasonable amount of time. ;)

-------------------------------------------------------

Typically, when an ad appears normally but get no clicks, it means one thing: that users who searched on your keywords are not finding that your ad meets their needs. Below are a few of the more common reasons as to why this may be the case:

* The ad is about something different than the keyword the user searched on to cause the ad to appear. To fix this, make sure that all of the keywords in the keyword list for the ad group are about the exact same thing that the ad is about.

* The ad may be poorly worded, have spelling and grammar errors and/or other problems that cause the potential customer to lose interest in your business as a desirable place to buy what they are looking for.

* There is something about the 'tone' or the overall 'feel' of the ad that cause the user to not trust you as a source from whom to buy. To fix this, make sure that your ad represents you, your company and your product in a crisp and professional way. Let your ad speak well for you and give the impression that you are a trustworthy advertiser who will deliver as promised.

Bottom line, 100% of what a potential customer knows about you when the see your ad, is what the ad says about you, your company, and your products. You have just a few seconds to make an excellent impression on them, and earn their business. So make your ad as relevant and as professional as it can possibly be.

Below are some tips which I think are key to being successful with AdWords:

uhwebs, ,make sure you exhaust all the possible negative KWs using the google KW suggestion tool. Your ad might be diplaying for a lot of unrelated terms. Also, try to use an ad similar to one of your competitors and see if that helps you get some clicks. If you get a lot of impressions but no clicks, soon enough, you will lose your ranking..

As a publisher seeing off topic ads on my site my other thought is a major keyword that is common across several areas.
Eg clubs - sports, music, night etc etc
