Many times when something looks like in a need for immediate attention, it turns not to be end of the world and that we can wait until Monday.

But some things do require immediate attention. Some time last week so called “Antivirus XP 2008” has started being promoted on account of many antivirus big brands. They used two or more accounts with invalid display URLs in order to show two or more ads at the same time. The site itself and the offer looked suspicious. I did get in touch with support and they resolved it in a decent manner. Then it reappeared again. At that time I got the confirmation that the site did not seem to be safe, according to whatever rep’s Firefox was stating. And they brought the ads down again, I believe as I was not seeing them.
Then we got into the weekend and those ads are there again. Now what? Wait until Monday while tens of thousands of people get across this ad that BTW, is utilizing adjective “Best”.

This post may sound as kind of “blah blah” but I’m just trying to make a point that based on the nature of this business and on the volume of searches that Google gets on minute bases, how anyone could think about not having support “online” every day.

Did anyone ever used email to contact support over the weekend and see action before Monday?

Email is never the fastest way. Did you try launching a chat? I've never tried it on the weekend, so I don't know if they're there, but on the weekdays, that's often the fastest way to get something fixed or explained.

Never used chat... for some reason I really don’t like that. I'll try.

Anyhow, I found that this particular problem is true, as some kind of malware is being offered, based on many "to trust" claims.

What did hit my nerve was a Google rep that sounded bit offended by my call as she could not figure what was wrong with that particular ad that is offering so called “antivirus xp 2008”. Go and put any AV brand name and you’ll see it there, APPROVED.

It’s obvious that the ad is coming back after policy team brings it down. What we need here is the communication between policy team and front line people so they know right away that it is about something that needs to be brought down right away, period.
That way I won’t need to “fight” with Google about it, and the rep will show some respect next time, being thankful for having somebody doing it for free.

Having spent the better part of an hour last month walking an extremely unknowledgeable client through removing that particular virus from the company's accounting computer that cuts their paychecks, I'm with you 100%.

It’s real rock and roll over there right now. There are three ads running at the same time, of which one has been in yellow premium area (.ru site) which means it has been approved. This throws away an old fashioned claim of Google AdWords representatives which sounds like this:

“Our AdWords Specialists review ads in our program. Due to the volume of ads we receive, some ads may run for a while on Google before they undergo the approval process. We assure you that we are working diligently to apply the same criteria to all of our ads.”

How about getting out of this kindergarten level? Please… The ad is already in yellow…

They show on major AV brands as well as on keywords like “antivirus”.

This means they are showing A LOT ! …and people are clicking on those ads and downloading this MALWARE.

Man, what a user experience… Sarcasm and irony as #1. Can anyone come to the rescue?
