Sky-High Minimum Bids

This is crazy

My Website blue-widgets.com is a simple, short hyphenated dot.com with all-original content and nothing questionable about it, though "blue-widgets" does not appear on the landing page. Searches on "blue-widgets" show no AdWords ads. Yet G wants $10.00 minimum bid!

Searches on the non-hyphenated form "bluewidgets" show only three AdWords ads but G wants $5.00 minimum bid! And "bluewidgets" appears frequently on the site in proper context.

My adgroup has only ten keywords all relevant to the landing page, and the ad context is similar to that of the landing page.

Anything I can do to get an affordable price?

Affordable before? Only with KWs that weren't desirable. The first time I tried the KWs that I posted about, they came up at $10 and $5. First time. And one of them is even the domain name!

What will changing domains accomplish?

It'll accomplish a temporary respite until it happens again. You need to make your ads extremely tightly focused to both your landing page and your keywords.

how does your Lp compare to the 3 others that are buying the KW? How does the frequency on your LP compare to their frequency of the same KW?
