Are AdWords squeezing the Image Ads?

I have just entered the program, made some banners (60px high) and uploaded. But when I view them through the preview in the account, they're "flattened", or "squeezed" and about 50px high. Since I have a couple of circles, these shows as ovals and a 1 px horizontal line I have becomes almost invisible.

Is that how they will look when published within regular sites eventually? If so, how can I get around it? Do I need to "stretch" the images a few percent before I upload them to counter this unwanted effect?

And, BTW, are there any ways that I can find out which sites that might expose my banners?

As usual, I'm grateful for any input.

Cheers,
Dan

Google will resize the ad to fit the 'ads by google' into the displayed area. You can upload a custom image size to get around this issue:

Google FAQ on this topic will answer your question:

They do state this under the support pages. Here is a link:

Sure, but not where they SHOULD have been clear about it:
[adwords.google.com...]
since the dimensions they have there isn't the actual ones..

I always thought that stupid mistakes like that was solely earmarked for governmental bodies and other authorities.

Anyway, I thank God there's a venue like this to turn to... ;-)
