Seriously, was this beta tested at all?

Anytime you change a date range for data on an ad group it automatically starts to check the entire account for recent changes? That doesn't make any sense. Was this tested on any campaigns with more than 2,500 keywords? If it was, I guess Google thinks waiting 20+ minutes (and that's on fast internet connection) to download the entire account just to change the data date range from 1 day to 2 days or 7 days, etc. is acceptable. I've read all the complaints on that other thread, but this is just inexcusable. New releases on Editor just means a new types of errors and incoveniences...this release being the worst I've seen.

Please tell me there is a way to tell Editor not to look for new account changes when all you are asking it to do is change the date range.

The slow down load time is frustrating. I thought it might just be me.

AWA - do you know if there is a way to tell Editor not to look for new account changes when all you are asking it to do is change the date range? I think this would help everyone out immensely and not have everyone trying to revert back to 5.0.1

First off, my apology for having been more absent that present in this forum recently. Funny how it works - the longer I'm with AdWords, the more there is to do. And, somehow, the less time there is for each thing. ;)

I'll consult right now with colleagues on the AE team and post again when I have heard back - hopefully tomorrow, Wednesday.

How do I revert back to the 5.0.1 version?
and my guess is that this beta wasn't tested at all. Surprisingly saying.

How do I revert back to the 5.0.1 version?

I have passed your feedback and questions along to a colleague on the AdWords Editor team, and heard back a short time ago - as follows:

In version 6.0, it may look like you're downloading recent account changes when you request a new date range, but AdWords Editor is actually just downloading stats. It may be confusing because the new statistics progress bar in version 6.0 resembles the dialog for downloading the full account.

It isn't possible to revert to version 5.0.1. However, in response to users' feedback, we're working on some short-term improvements for downloading statistics. In the meantime, you can click 'Cancel' to interrupt the download, then resume it later by selecting the stats interval again. AdWords Editor will start downloading exactly where it left off.

Many thanks for the AdWords Editor feedback in this and other threads. I can also say that this thread has led to quite a bit of internal discussion, as evidenced by a rather long Gmail thread following my consult. So thanks for that. Please know that your concerns are being heard by the right folks.

Thanks AWA, here's hoping there is a "fix" for this so that user's can use 6.0 exactly like they did 5.0 and 5.0.1 without it taking 10x the time to accomplish many of the same tasks. All the workarounds suggested do not help anyone change date ranges without "wasting" 20-30 minutes.

Whoever decided that user's could "live" with this in the 1st version of 6.0 have never managed a 10,000+ keyword campaign with 6.0 - I guarantee that.

I'm having a big problem with 6.0 today - not sure what in the world is causing it, but I'm working on a new campaign for a new client - got everything in except for the ads in, but every time I try to enter an ad, the thing somehow refreshes and wipes out everything I've entered ! Very frustrating.
