How long for ads to run in brand NEW account

everything in adwords seems slower on approvals these days

hey everyone
its been a while since I setup a brand new adwords account

I set it up about 18 hours ago
ads not running . ..

any comments on timing for a brand new account
to see ads start running

(the good ole' days used to be a few hours max)

In large part this depends on when the ads were submitted, the number of other ads being submitted by other advertisers at the same time - and, especially, the content of the ads.

Ads and keywords for sensitive subjects, for example, may require a longer review time.

Also, although I am sure you are aware of it, it's worth mentioning that for new accounts the ads will not run until a valid credit card has been entered - or other payment method arranged.

It's also worth checking that your Maximum CPC is higher than than the Minimum CPC required for the selected keywords to run.
