I was told by a rep this is no longer allowed...
So does that mean for affiliate companies like CJ, Linkshare, Azoogleads, etc that affiliates can't use affiliate link to drive traffic directly to merchant web sites?
Your display URL is DOMAIN.COM, and your landing page URL must be DOMAIN.COM
What happens between, nobody cares. That means you can have 16 redirects if you want.
The problem could be if there is any latency in these redirects.
If you first redirect goes fine, but second gets stuck or takes more than whatever Google has set as a threshold, your ad may be marked as invalid.
That's how I see it, considering the belief that some kind of robot is going through.
Our task now is to let Google know if such mistake has happened so they can take a look back and figure if it was a mistake on their side, or something about site and redirects being used.
*sigh*
