Anyone know why? I can set up an account online with CPC for placement-targeting campaigns, but through AE the check box is grey (uncheckable!). Maybe this is updated in 5.0.1?

At this time it would appear as if you cannot setup a CPC placement targeted campaign or manage one for that matter from within the AdWords Editor. It appears that only CPM placement targeted campaigns work from within AdWords Editor.
I wish this was not the case and hopefully they will update AdWords Editor soon.
