I want to place the target-keyword into the google ad. So I wrote a little script designing me 400 lines for the bulk-changes interface in adwords editor. But the differences do not show up.

Is there any means to design different ads other than on ad-group level? And if not: Would you start a separate campaign and define 400 different adgroups? Is that still manageable or would I have to define all 400 adds "by hand"?

you can use dynamic keyword insertion [adwords.google.com] in your ad text to get the triggering keyword/phrase.
you can also use this syntax to specify a default keyword insertion in case the triggering keyword causes character length issues in the ad text.

thx for the input, phranque, I'll figure that out.

Nevertheless I prefer as much control as possible via my own scripts. The editor offers the possibility to import CSV-data and it would be nice if I could define distinct headlines for each keyword that way. But maybe this is part of the "features you'd like to see-" thread already;)

For instance some ideas I had in mind may look odd the way you suggested: think of plural formation and such things. I can't think of an english example but in German the adjective depends on the exact form of the following noun.

beautiful widget
beautiful widgets

require a different adjective in some languages and if I target different widgets with exact match or phrase much, I think this way won't work.
