Allow Ad to Redirect or Update URL?

I don't want to lose my history or lower my QS

My company recently updated about 90% of the URLs (it was unavoidable). So now I need to make a decision on what to do with my thousands of ads. Do I update the URL, which could lead to a shorter page load time and increase the quality score? OR do I leave the URL and just allow it to follow the redirect so I keep my history?

Anyone know if having the redirect causes any problems?

Did you change only the url of the landing page or even the display url, e.g. change in domain name?

If you didn't change display url, then just redirect (header redirects just work fine and only just some miliseconds).

We didn't change domains, so our display URL is ok. I was just concerned about the QS going down because of the updated algo that included page load time.
