I have managed to get my page looking so that:
&kw={keyword}
displays the keywords on my site. But if someone typed in "green widget" and I'm bidding on widget, then my page will show the word "widget"
But I'd actually like them to see their actual search phrase, "green widget" on my page.
How do I do this pls?
Thank you.
Everyone's marketing needs are different. That's why there is room for a whole bunch of us.
This is just my opinion, obviously knowing little about your site or your goals.
If you've ever looked at your logs, you'll see that many people don't type so well.
Do you really want to proclaim to the potential customer that you have "grene wigdets" in stock? IMO, it could look rather spammy. That's my impression when I visit a site that literally echoes my search query back to me. Obviously, there are ways to do it since I've seen such, but it's struck me as a little "blackhat" and quickly turns me off. Of course, that's me, it may not be your typical customer.
Even if you sell something resembling "grene wigdets" will the errant speller be able to find it on your site as you "promised"?
Kind of reminds me of an popular auction site which would promise me "rotting dead corpses" it that's what I searched for ;)
It seems to me that you sell "widgets". No doubt you also have the "green" variety or you wouldn't want the click.

Why not prominently build your page dynamically on the Keyword that triggered the ad - Widgets. Note that you are the premier vendor of Widgets in your HEADER tags.
Again, since you obviously sell the "Green Widgets", make an attractive promotion on your site for those as well as your other best selling varieties.

Still, by announcing yourself on your site as the premier seller of Widgets, you could feature some best-sellers and perhaps have a Google Site Search box where the hasty typist may just find your "Green Widgets" in short order.

Of course, I don't know if you sell 1,000 varieties of Widgets, in which case this advice may not be as effective as it sounds. You may also sell "widgets" and their components whose precise syntax can be rendered dozens of ways. Why not just show them the exact item (again, the kw that triggered the ad) rather than their rendering of it? They're sure to recognize the product.

Slightly OT, but I haven't used the AdSense Site Search box on my sites, only the Google.com Search box, so if I don't know if the "grene wigdet" Site Search will offer a proper spelling (as it does when searching Google.com) or will simply look for that literal query on your site. Someone correct me please if I'm off-base on that part. If I'm on target there, that could assist the searcher.

Still again, JMO, but when relying on the searcher's literal query, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it ;)
