Curious to know what Google is charging you for your API activity? Most of my clients were totally free for a while, but now our account managers claim we have to pay for all of them. Seems like it's all over the place the deals advertisers are getting on API token/charges.

Google charges for any API activity and you can find the details at:

Earlier the API was free of charge to use but now you have to pay for operations that you perform with API.

Some advertisers who develop proprietary applications to promote their own businesses may be eligible for limited free allocations of API units.

That's from the above API page and is worth talking to Google about to see if you can get some free quota points.
