Preventing specific countries from seeing AdWords ads?

Free to visit site, but don't want to pay for clicks from other countries.

Hello, all.

Is it possible to prevent users in [countries other than the US & Canada] from seeing AdWords ads on www.google.com?

Our campaigns are targeted only to the US & Canada, which keeps them from accruing clicks on www.google.cn, www.google.co.uk, www.google.pl, and so on.

That's great, but - we still get clicks from users around the world who decide to use www.google.com.

Problem is, our widgets can be sold only to the US and Canada, so the "foreign" clicks are completely and totally useless to us.

So, to summarize - is there a way to show AdWords ads only to folks in the US & Canada - no matter what Google site they use?

If you have a regionalised campaign targeted to just the US or Canada then your ads will only be displayed to people within the US or Canada no matter which site they use anyway.

If you are experiencing visitors from other parts of the world, it is likely that google's targeting simply got it wrong because Google's GEO targeting is not always 100% accurate.

For instance, I have a campaign targeted to just England, but occasionally I'll get a visitor from Ireland.

If you're getting tonnes of visitors from other parts of the world all the time then perhaps you should contact google about it.
