First of all, i am newbie to adwords so please be gentle. :)
Ever since i changed my ads, my CTR has been constantly dropping by .2% It had gone up to about 2.5% - 3% and now its only 1.42%
Basically, i changed all my ads and added new ones. On some of my adgroups i had about 5-6 ads! Someone then said that it was not good to have too many so now i have only 2 ads per adgroup.
I also read somewhere that i should delete kepwrds that have not had any impressions, this will apparently improve my CTR? So i did that.
Am i doing something wrong or am i just getting bad advice! :)
Please can someone tell me what i can or should do to improve my CTR.
Your help is much appreciated!
regards,
yw
However in your case it seems that your adcopy is the problem.
If the new adcopy that you wrote is not appealing to users like the old ones, they won't click on them as much, it's that simple.
rather than deleting keywords, create an adcopy report to see which adcopy has a high CTR (and try to figure out why). If you think you have too many adcopies in your groups, delete (or pause) the ones that are not performing.
Also make sure that you switch on ad optimization in your campaigns, so Google will automatically display the ads that have the highest CTRs.
