Should we remove the logo from our sites?

i am afraid that negative publicity will lead to poorer conversions if the "hacker safe" logo is displayed.

Any thoughts?

I've always felt that any site displaying "Hacker Safe" was an open invitation to hackers to focus on the site. Now that a "Hacker Safe" site has been hacked, hacking other "hacker Safe" sites may be seen as some sort of rite of passage for hackers.

You could always do some A,B testing where you show 50% of your visitors the Hacker Safe logo and hide it for the other visitors. If there are significant differences in your commercial statistics, you can decide to display or remove the logo based on that. Removing the logo just because of some news about one site where something negative happend is not a solid business decision.

When analyzing your stats, you should take into account your yearly costs for the logo program, because if you see now difference in customer confidence and sales, removing the logo will still be better because of reduced costs operating your site.
