How to duplicate an entire account with AdWords Editor?

I have a friend that I'm helping get started with affiliate marketing. I am basically letting him "copy" one of my niche campaigns, and I wanted to basically set him up with an AdWords account that was identical to my account for that campaign. I figured I could use AdWords Editor to export my entire campaign and just import it into his AdWords account, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

I guess now that I think about it, Google may not want to encourage this so maybe it's not possible. There are about 45 ad groups in this campaign and I am just trying to avoid having to manually setup his entire account. Anyone know if this is possible?

It's possible and made considerably easier in the latest version of Adwords Editor. Highlight the campaign you wish to export, select File > Export to CSV > Export Current Campaign (or the latest, greatest addition: Export Selected Campaigns and Ad Groups --> which helps if your campaigns exceed the maximum number of Excel rows).

Then, just sort the campaigns, ad groups, at texts, keywords, and negative keywords apart in the CSV file - and upload each section individually using the "Make Multiple Changes" tabs. From there, you can paste the data you'd like to upload.

Disclaimer: I've just noticed that there's another option called "Export for Sharing" within Adwords Editor... it sounds intriguing, but I've never used it. Has anyone else? Does this offer an easier solution thatn the one I've outlined?

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that. I tried Export for Sharing and it seems like it's only for sharing the same account data between multiple computers. If you export for sharing and then try to import into another account it gives you an error.

Copy/Paste between accounts works just fine for me. Just ensure you have both accounts in editor first.

1. Highlight campaigns you want
2. Copy
3. Open friend's account (in editor)
4. Paste
5. Make changes like URLs (in ad text tab you can do replace all at once)
