I'm having a little problem that I can't seem to solve myself. I started promoting a CPA offer with Adwords on a quite competative market last week. I made several adgroups with about 30-60 keywords each just to see what keywords get traffic and conversion and should get their own adgroups.
Now what I see is that pretty almost all keywords get a message that my ad isn't being displayed because "your bid is too low for this keyword auction" when I do a mouseover on the magnifying glass.
The weird thing is that the more general keywords DO get reasonable amounts of clicks but when I use Google Ad Preview and enter any of my keywords I don't get to see my Ad on any page. There are many of my keywords that SHOULD get a fair amount of traffic, but they don't get any impressions at all.
I started bidding at about $2,- per keyword so I think that should be sufficient. I then tried upping my bids to 3 - 4 dollars per click but I still get that same message on a mouseover and nada impressions or
clicks on most keywords. My Qualityscore for all keywords are OK to GREAT.
My budget is at $2000,- from day 1 so that can't be the problem.
I'm really lost as what's going on here. I have never seen this message on any of my other campaigns so I really don't have a clue as what this might be.
Who can help me?
Thank you!
Gioom
From what I have seen and heard, this is a common issue with a new adwords account / maybe even a new campaign. Your share of impressions will be low till Google tests your ads CTR over a period of time. From google's perspective, if they give you full share of impressions and your ads dont generate comparable CTR with older advertisers, they will lose out. Hence they take this approach to minimize their downside. This time period could vary, I have seen my impressions go up after about a month or so in a competitive market.
Hope this helps.
Weirdest thing...
