Adwords Editor was able to contact Adwords, but there was a problem with the communication. Please try again later.
Meanwhile, it's left a campaign only half entered. Bleah.
I have latest version of AdWords Editor with me. I hope they get the problem resolved as soon as possible.
Was even told to try after business hours when traffic might be slower. Didn't work then either.
Still emailing and calling to look for straight answers.
I've been having the problem since version 5 was release in late December... but I don't think it's version 5 related entirely. I've tried reverting to version 4 and still have the problem.
The software has a "network connectivity" issue before getting 100% of my account(s).
I've spoken with Google about this problem and they initially claimed the problem was on my end. Quite a coincidence re: the timing? But, they later admitted there is a "known issue" that they are working on. No ETA on a resolution, of course.
Another AWE problem: Often, it does not correctly report the KW's status (active/inactive) or the KW's Avg. Position. I have to manually check each time. The reporting is wrong so often that it is nearly useless.
Yes, and also the minimum CPC is not accurately reported, by a longshot. I now have to keep the AWE open PLUS the web console; I can do a lot ads, edits and deletions quickly in the AWE (if I can get it to post properly) but I can't get any real accurate representation of my accounts; for that I have to go to the web. It's not a very efficient way to have to work. Still miles above the competition, mind you, but not as good as it could be.
Thank you AWA. After a more than week of trying to get this taken seriously it is wonderful to see progress.
A pleasure. ;)
This morning we are able to access all accounts normally again and can get back to business.
That's excellent news, PaidToPlay.
A Quick question/request for others who have posted in this thread regarding trouble with AE: would you please post here if you are still having issues, and describe them?
Many thanks in advance,
AWA
My reps were helpful too - they sent me an email as soon as it was fixed this afternoon.
FYI: It would have been nice for complaints to my reps to have been accepted as legitimate earlier, rather than blame my own network as the cause of the problem. It cost us real money paying IT consultants to investigate. But I understand that they didn't know either.
Thanks
My 'sync' problems are still ongoing. For example, in my nice giant 24inch screen here, I'm looking at the editor, where it tells me several keywords are inactive with minimum bids of 1.00 (and has told me that for the past 24 hours) whereas in another window, I have the console opened up in a web browser, and there I see that the same keywords are active with a minimum bid of $.40.
Should I assume that, because we can't get current day stats in the editor, we're not getting current day keyword status as well?

netmeg, I'll reply to this again tomorrow when I have more time (since I getting the Advertiser Feedback Report ready-to-go right now).
However, a couple of questions:
* Is this a new occurance for you - or has it happened in the past?
* How 'old' is the downloaded 'offline' version of the account that you are comparing to your 'online' version?
Some thoughts:
Since an offline version of the account will not be updating 'live' as things change, some difference as compared to an online account are to be expected. But I am certain that you are already aware of that.
That said, here is what I think may be happening: I have understood that when you 'get recent changes' only, these changes will not necessarily include information on Minimum CPC and thus active/inactive status.
On the other hand if you download the entire account, this info will be included.
I'll confirm this tomorrow with a couple of colleagues and post again.

Had this problem before; and this error occurred again a few minutes ago.
Not quite sure which error you are referring to, rockyfp.
If it is the type of error about which netmeg first posted, then I think it's best to contact AdWords support and let them know the details, so they can look into it.

This version doesn't seem quite ready for prime time.
