I would like to know what other people think about this...I think it's sheisty as heck...

Let's pretend the keyword in question is "computer." In my adgroup "Computers," I have the keyword "computer." My bid, however, is less than the minimum bid of $0.50, so my bid for that keyword is inactive, ad won't show.

But it DOES show when someone searches "computer." The broad match will somehow find a match to, let's say, my "playstation" adgroup.

Who cares if I get a "cheap click for the keyword." I have NO control over where or what ad shows for that query. Additionally, I DO NOT THINK it should be ours to add that damn keyword as a negative to every adgroup for the broad match to work correctly.

...I wish there were some way to force the broad match to actually look at the destination url and make a judgement on relevancy, same as the spider does. Because as of right now, it matches strictly on the words, without taking any sort of context or page relevancy into account.

SO.....what does anyone think? Anyone else eve notice this?

Yes, I have noticed this and agree that it rarely benefits advertisers.

I've almost completely removed broad match from my account, even though it means a lot of work in expanding my keyword list. The increase in ROI though makes it worth it.
