I have managed my Adword account for a couple of years. Several days ago, all the adgroups got "Google Slapped", and all the keyterms become inactive with minimum of $10.00
I adjusted lots of things on the landing page as their rules and policy and waited a few days to see if it takes any effect, but the keywords still remained inactive. So I developed a new domain with the same content, and updated display URL and destination URL to the new domain, and all the keyterms came alive!
However, I found very mysterious things after that.
1. I found I had been receiving pretty good traffics even after all the keywords went inactive, and it's from the content search. Is content search nothing to do with keywords being inactive?
2. As soon as I changed the URL, all the keywords went alive. HOWEVER, I found all the impressions/hits from the content match has been gone now. That means, I'm getting even less impressions and hits than the time with inactive keywords. Why is it?
I still have a few adgroups with all inactive keyterms with a good number of hits from the content match. I'm not sure if i need to change their URLs because I might lose the tarffics from the content match like the other groups.
Someone can help me with any suggetion?
The content impressions will start to go down slowly and over 7-10 days stop totally... trust me.. it happens.
When you start with a new domain and new landing page URL.. you basically start afresh..
Everything restarts from scratch and the adwords algo restarts the QS calculations, Search and Content impressions and content site matching.
You may have to wait , keep tweaking all the time.. till you again get a decent QS and it may take upto a month to reach 'old' levels ..if ever.
The USD 10 hit on QS is really horrible...
