Hi Friends

What you guys think does impressions on a keyword are directly proportional to bid amount or just position of impression can be affected with bid amount.

In my case:
There was a no impression on keyword "abc" but as I changed bid amount it got impression what does it mean?

or ... the reason for coming impression in relevant search. Like nobody did search on that keyword "abc" when bid amount was low?

guide me!

Thanks

What was the Avg Position before and after the bid adjustment?

Typically, the higher the bid, the higher the position... and the higher the position, the higher the impressions - for two reasons: the higher the position, the more likely to be seen by a searcher, and the more likely to be picked up for search syndication exposure...

Do you use your own site or of one you’re affiliated with? Generally, your bid has nothing to do with the number of impressions if you’re on position 3 vs. 6 as they’re both on first page. That was obviously not your case as you haven’t had any impressions and then you got some after raising your bid.
With raising your bid, two possible scenarios:

You’ve got out from Xth position that was on second, third or who knows page.
You’ve got above the guy that was using same display URL so your ad started showing and his ad has stopped.

What does affect a number of impressions directly is your budget.

Hope this helps.

That may be true if you're only running ads on Google, but if you're opted in to the Search Syndication network - that's not accurate. Certain syndication partners, such as AOL or Comcast, are responsible for a substantial number of impressions - and the number of ads that each partner syndicates varies by partner. Some partners display only the top ad, others may display the top 3 or 4... meaning that there can be a dramatic impression increase going from position 4 to 3, 3 to 2, or 2 to 1...

Absolute true. My comment about first page would apply to Google only.

Thanks

... but you would still get impressions from Google anyway. So if it was "zero" my comment would be valid. Those that show first 1, 2, or 3 would just add to existing impressions from Google (from first page).

?

I actually didnt get the main reason for this?

There is also the possibility that other keyword was displayed for a search query. After you increased the bid for "abc", this keyword is displayed instead of the other one.

If after your bid increase your position was '55' - it's very likely that the prior position was too low to receive any impressions. 55 is a very low position - on at least the 6th results page, if not farther back...

What is Basically "Search Syndication Network" ... please explain.

In your campaigns settings, there's an option to select the "Search Network". The Search Network is a large group of websites who have partnered with Google to display AdWords ads. These include sizable sites such as AOL, Ask.com, Comcast, etc.
