When you set up conversion tracking it is suggested that you give it one hour before looking for recorded data.

However, when you do go into your accounts it states that there is actually a 24 hour delay in tracking results.

Make your mind up...

As the old song goes: What a difference a day makes; 24 little hours...

Hmmmm. Good call, Syzygy. Pinging editors now...

(I think you'll find that the one hour figure is correct.) ;)

Then if conversions are purportedly reported in one hour, why is the rest of the data reported in three?

Good question. And since I not hugely technical, this is my best guess:

Every single advertiser has campaigns, Ad Groups and keywords, and the associated stats - usually lots and lots of them.

On the other hand, not every advertiser uses Conversion Tracking. Thus, a whole lot less data.
