the Adwords system won't let you use some keywords and phrases when writing your ads at all. For example:

online poker
or even just "poker" can't be used to write an ad.

However, I see ads with these keywords in them, and have seen them for months! I have told Google about it and nothing is done. What gives?

That is absolutely impossible! Unless they used some nasty trick to insert the banned keywords.

I guess it depends on your location. At my location nothing shows up... Maybe the keywords are banned in specific countries only.

poker word cannot be used at all in ads... but many ads are using it.

I m in Miami, US and see a lot of these ads.

no misspellings, no tricks, plain and simple, they use keywords that the system wont let you use.

Is there $$$ being exchanged under the table with Google? insider at Google?

what is DIK?

what is DIK?

Dynamic Keyword Insertion, also referred to as "DKI" is a useful yet basically "hidden" feature of the Google AdWords system. Google mysteriously provides no official documentation on it's functionality or intended uses.

But, essentially, it's using "{KeyWord:Default Text}" in your ad copy to dynamically insert the keyword in it's place.

I searched for "free poker game" and found three sponsored ads. They all included "game" but the word "poker" was absent in all three.

Hello All,

I stumbled upon this thread while researching Adwords cheaters. Please visit [adwords-cheaters.com...] and send in your Adwords cheaters. If we all make enough noise, maybe we can get some fairness back.

Thanks,

"I see ads with these keywords in them, and have seen them for months! I have told Google about it and nothing is done. What gives?"

This is my exact experience. Google.com may (or may not) notify the site that they are using banned words or using Adwords to sell products that are prohibited by Google Adwords. If the site is notified, they might make a change (or they might not). If the site is generating a lot of money for Google.com, it is not likely to be penalized. It appears that ethics is another hot commodity at Google.com and we all lose.
