As the match for the Content Network is not done per keyword, it would be impossible to use dynamic keyword insertion.

true, "matching" isn't done on an individual keyword basis, it's more general than that. but...

individual keywords do get selected as the "matching" content network keywords for billing purposes.

as such, i'm guessing an ad with dki on the content network, should work for you as well.

test it and see - placement reports should allow you to go check on places where your content network text ads are showing.

The keyword insert works as the pulls are based on keywords... the interesting one is to see different ads from differing keywords... guess they broad match but pull by specific keyword broadmatched.
