I've found myself in a very frustrating position and perhaps someone here can help. For the past year I've been using adwords for my small business. About a month ago I was at a friends home and logged into their computer to check my gmail. It turns out that he has been working on a gambling related business and is regularly banned by adwords, then signs up with new accounts etc..

As farfetched as it sounds, it appears as if my logging in on his computer has somehow associated me with the gambling site and now I (and my site) are banned. I received no notice from Google, my adwords account appeared as normal but the ads werent serving up. When I emailed about it, they replied that I was banned for being associated with the gambling site. I plead my case (via email) but they either blow me off or just ignore it. Is there any steps that I can take to clear this up?

I told them to look at my site and my history (associated with my gmail address which I've had for years)and that they would see no association with any gambling related activities but I haven't heard back. Is there a phone number or something that I can contact perhaps to get this resolved, its basically destroying my business, its a shame that I have to rely so heavily on adwords.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

"associated with the gambling site"?

Was that their exact phrase?

Seems very odd; I'd have thought you could own, frequent, even marry a gambling site, without it necessarily impingeing on your adwords account.

I'd have thought a rather closer business or Internet connection would be required before adwords TOS cut in. Like 'activity', for example.

The OP said:

That would seem pretty obvious to me if the OP was logging into his account from the same computer as the offender.

I have found that there is often more to the story than is in the original post.

They probably tracked all logins via his IP.
