After running a search query report yesterday, I found out the my most expensive terms are being pulled up when someone searches for a different brand. For example my term, "brandA widgets" is pulling up for the search "brandB widgets".

Do I have any shot of getting these clicks refunded from Google? Any experience w/ this?

It could be another case of "dangerous broadmatch"... By the way, is your keyword broadmatched?

Yep, it was broadmatched. I am adding negative keywords for all of the instances I find like this. I did notice all of my competitors are having the same issue.

adding negatives is a very good thing. I would suggest to use only exact and phrase match, as you can't figure out ALL the negatives needed. When you gain some more experience, you can go back to the broadmatch.
