Hiring Someone Part Time for AdWords

How should I structure pay?

Hi,

I've been running my own AdWord campaigns for some time now. It is very time consuming and frankly, I'd rather spend my time on other things. I am not particularly interested in outsourcing my campaigns to a third party, for a couple of reasons. Firstly I don't think I spend enough (currently between $700-$1200 a month) for a third party to be interested, and also I don't really feel comfortable with letting people I don't know have access to sensitive information about the business.

I'd rather use someone I know who I can train up and work with them, more personally. The issue I am stuck on is how to pay them.

I have read posts on here that say 3rd party companies usually take 10-15% of PPC spending. I was thinking about maybe combining a percentage of spending and a reward for improving ROI and the margins. This would mean they'd be motivated not just to spend more on bad campaigns, but to improve performance.

According to Google Analytics my campaigns are currently giving a ROI of 78% and a margin of 48%.

Does anyone have any experience with employing some one for their AdWords campaign, and what sort of payment model do you use? I'd be interested to hear success stories.

Thanks for your time.

If you go the % route I'd say good luck at getting someone willing to work for $100 a month.

Yes, I've had a think about it and I've decided it's best to pay an hourly rate, then review their performance.
